FREE International (non-U.S.) E-mail services

Here is a roundup of the best free international E-mail services on the Web. Most of these services are available to anyone worldwide. But in most cases they're predominately aimed at non-English speakers. These services are all totally free and are usually supported by advertising.
Even if you already have an E-mail account on your home computer, a Web-based E-mail account can be very handy for corresponding when you're on the road.

Hello E-mail - This is a Web-based free E-mail service from Australia.
Copacabana E-mail - Another free E-mail service, offered by a Brazilian company.
BaseMail - This is a free E-mail service from Brazil (in Portuguese).
MailBR - This free service from Brazil offers POP3 support and it supports attachments. You also get multiple domains and the option to create folders.
ZipMail - Here's a good Web-based E-mail service from Brazil. They allow attachments of up to one megabyte; address book support and HTML mail. No POP3 service.
Talk21 - Major, free, speedy Web-based E-mail, offered by British Telecommunications. Requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 3.0 or more recent. You may send up to send up to three attachments per message (for a maximum file size of one megabyte). Your address here will be [email protected].
Postmaster - This British site bills itself as "Europe's first free E-mail service." Postmaster offers features such as file attachment capabilities and a personal address book. No software or special configuration is need to use this service.
163-Net - This is a Chinese-language free E-mail provider.
Joymail - Here's a free Web-based E-mail service from China, offered in both Chinese and English.
Post.Cz - Here's an excellent E-mail service from the Czech Republic that offers Web-based E-mail, as well as POP E-mail.
MailForum - A Danish Web-based free E-mail provider. Similar to HotMail (no POP3 service).
WWW.909 - Another Danish Web-based free E-mail provider. (No POP3 service).
Mail.EE - This is a free E-mail service from Estonia (and is intended "only for Estonian users.")
GNWMail.com - This is a advertising-supported, Web-based E-mail service from Finland. HTML mail is supported. Attachments of up to 1 megabyte are allowed. Also offers service in English, Italian, German and Swedish.
France-Mail - This is perhaps France's top free E-mail service. France-Mail offers free Web-based E-mail. You may read your mail through a POP3 account, but you can't send E-mail via POP3. They offer an interesting feature in which people can leave audio messages for you (which you may listen to as WAV sound files). People can also leave messages for you via France's national Minitel computer network.
Mygale - This is a French service that offers free POP E-mail.
CaraMail - Another free E-mail service from France.
Freemail - This is a free Web-based and POP3-based nonprofit E-mail service from Hungary.
Bimamail - An Indonesian Web-based free E-mail service. Also features Indonesian headline news and a chat facility.
FreeWeb - This Italian site offers free Web-based E-mail.
Global Message Exchange - Here's a free E-mail service from the Netherlands. Here, you may compose your messages off-line. They have a POP and a SMTP server, so you can use your favorite E-mail program to handle all your E-mail. (No spam allowed).

Loja.net - This is a new free E-mail service for Portuguese speakers. It allows you to access your personal E-mail from any Net-connected computer:
CODEC - Free E-mail service from Romania. Web-based and easy to use. You get a choice of 3 domains.
SingPost - A Singapore service that offers free E-mail forwarding. Web-based E-mail is promised soon, as well.
Pobox - This is a free E-mail service from Slovakia. They offer many features, including address books, directories, message filtering, POP3 mail, forwarding, signatures and autoresponders.
MixMail - This is a free advertiser-supported E-mail service for Spanish speakers. Users may choose a permanent E-mail address at one domain ([email protected]) that will exist as long as they wish. MixMail accounts will forward and retrieve E-mail messages from multiple POPs to one location. MixMail also features personalized address books and both standard and HTML-coded text.
